okay, i've had this problem for a while and it's really still touch and go. it's about relative urls.

my problem is this: when i put a file in a subdirectory inside a subdirectory and want to link to say a css file at a higher level, i always add too many "../" items to try to find it. often, i'll go through 2 to up to 1 bajillion "../" trying to find the file i'm looking for. does anyone else experience this problem?

better yet, do you have any suggestions on how to overcome it? they are hella appreciated!

Hehehe.. I know that _exact_ feeling! My only suggestion is to point to the site's root and then navigate up:

okay, so i'm trying to figure this out 100%. if i have a file here:

and i want to point an image in index.php in sub5 to an image residing in a directory in sub1, i would go:

then? do i include the current or resulting directory in the "../"s? it's a bit confusing. hehe.

thanks for the help frank!

../ = go back one directory. Therefore: if you're located in /html/blah/ and you type ../this.test, you will be asking for /html/this.test.

/ = go to root. Therefore: if you're located in /html/blah/ and you type: /this.test, you will be asking for /this.test.

Does this make sense?
